About

The NGFP Africa Network brings together emerging futurists, changemakers, leaders, innovators and visionaries from across the continent and the African diaspora to reimagine and shape a fairer future for Africa. Launched in 2021, the network works to democratise foresight and make futures thinking more accessible, empowering young leaders to imagine and build better futures for their communities. It fosters collaboration across generations, sectors and countries, creating a platform for collective intelligence, innovation and action rooted in African knowledge, priorities and lived realities. The network has grown by more than 70% since 2022 and now brings together over 300 members across Africa.

Members connect through the monthly NGFP Africa Forums, the African Futures Dialogues Series, country and thematic hubs, the annual NGFP Fellowship and peer-to-peer learning. In 2025, the forums explored grassroots innovation, regional collaboration and foresight-driven policy engagement, with discussions spanning climate and energy, rural futures, food systems, education, artificial intelligence, digital equity and data sovereignty. Through this growing network, members are also engaging with decision-makers and helping to shape how foresight is practised and applied across the continent. These spaces enable members to exchange knowledge, strengthen their capabilities, develop collaborations and shape new projects—helping to ensure that African youth are active participants in decisions about the continent’s future.

Kenya | NGFP Africa Network Weaver & Advocacy Lead

Passy is SOIF’s African Network Weaver and a Programme Manager at the Society for International Development. Her work focuses on sustainable energy, climate action and futures thinking across Africa, including leading research, dialogue and policy engagement through the Sustainable Energy Futures for Eastern Africa programme. She is also active in youth climate and energy networks, helping connect emerging leaders with policy processes and opportunities to shape more sustainable futures. Connect with Passy.
