Intergenerational Fairness Hub
About
The Intergenerational Fairness (IGF) Hub is a community of practice and impact that brings together individuals and organizations who are committed to creating a just and sustainable future for present and future generations.
Launched by the School of International Futures as part of their Next Generation Foresight Practitioner’s network, the aim of the hub is to provide a safe space for engaged and like-minded people to explore, learn, share knowledge and collaborate on how to translate this goofy concept of IGF into tangible actions.
Reach out to any of the focal points if you’d like to know more and join.
You can follow the hub’s work through its Medium publication.

IGF Journey
Intergenerational fairness refers to the equitable distribution of resources, opportunities, and responsibilities between present and future generations. In recent years, it has become a pressing issue due to shifts in demographic patterns, climate change, economic dynamics, and social trends. An intergenerational fairness hub or community of practice can play a vital role in:
- Promoting equity;
- Encouraging knowledge sharing;
- Creating collaborative solutions;
- Conducting policy advocacy;
- Building public awareness;
- Commissioning research and analysis;
- Providing skill building training, and;
- Fostering intergenerational relationships.
What Happens in the Hub?
The hub hosts learning sessions focused on exploring diverse topics and applying innovative tools that challenge perspectives and inspire solutions.
The 5D model of Appreciative Inquiry is one such tool we’ve utilized, alongside many others.
Topics are selected collaboratively, either by our focal points or volunteer members, fostering a dynamic and inclusive space for growth, learning, and creative problem-solving.

Working Groups
Our hub is driven by dedicated teams focused on specific aspects of IGF. Each group specializes in a particular area enabling focused and efficient work, bringing together people and organisations with shared interests and complementary skills to collaborative on achieving specific objectives.

“Each step we take must be for those who come after. That is the sacred way. That is the Seven Generations way.”
Richard Wagamese
