Veerappan Swaminathan


Veera is the founder and director of two social enterprises - Sustainable Living Lab and edm8ker. He has a keen interest in addressing sustainability challenges using futures thinking, community development and technology. As a pioneer of the Maker Movement in Singapore, he is working to steer the movement in Asia towards enabling a sustainable future.He was awarded the NUS Outstanding Young Alumni Award in 2019, the Joseph Jaworski Next Generation Foresight Asia Special Award in 2018 and represented Singapore at its UN SDG voluntary national review in the same year. He is also an INK and YSEALI professional fellow. He sits on the panel for the Lotus-NUS Fund which awards S$125K annually to local social enterprises. He graduated with a BEng (Mechanical Engineering), is pursuing an MSc (Intellectual Property Management) at the National University Singapore.
