Peachie Dioquino-Valera is a Climate Reality Leader of The Climate Reality Project. She is also known as Peachie Keen! & Green, a label of hers where she does her environmental and social activism, and conservation works. This ranges from article writing for the opinion section of Business Mirror or InquirerPOP.net; serving as a public/resource speaker and moderator for different engagements; and handling contractual work for various environmental and conservation organizations. She has been presenting the Climate Change, Veganism, Plastic Pollution, and Zero Waste stories since 2014. Peachie also gives her insights via interviews, not only to localmedia, but to some international groups such as Global Citizen Org, Bonheur Ecologique Tour, Inc. Southeast Asia, etc. As an environmental project consultant she has worked, and is presently working,with various organizations, companies, and government agencies such as Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), Department of Energy(DOE), Department of Agriculture (DA), and Department of Education (DepEd). She is currently a sustainability consultant for UP-VSB (Virata School of Business). Peachie is aManila representative of the Save Antique Movement where they are still fighting against the environmental and social injustices of the biggest coal mining entity in thecountry. Peachie has worked this too with her ex-boss, Gina Lopez, when Ms. Lopez was still the Secretary of DENR. Some of her biggest environmental projects were: “10.10.10 Run for the Pasig River”, which landed in the Guinness WorldRecords as having the greatest number of participants in a marathon; and “Road to Paris Campaign”, an international campaign to raise awareness for the ParisAgreement. Here, Peachie was able to become a participant and contributor for ACT (Agreement for Climate Transformation) Consortium 2015 headed by Atty. Tony LaViña. This was used as the Philippines’s Legal Text, with an Explanatory Memorandum, for the COP 21. They also collected hundreds of thousands of Filipino signatures wherein the petition was delivered to United Nations FrameworkConvention on Climate Change’s (UNFCCC) COP21.
